Mission & Vision
The Mission of the Antelope Valley Adult Education Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, equitable, accessible, and data-informed program resulting in the academic, career, and social-emotional development of all students. Through counseling department collaboration with administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners, students will be empowered to pursue their academic, post-secondary, and career goals
The Counseling Department of Antelope Valley Adult Education will empower every student to actively pursue their academic goals, post-secondary aspirations, and career objectives by providing equitable access and social-emotional support which fosters a nurturing environment for holistic growth and success. The AV Adult Education counselors are here to assist you on your journey to achieve personal, academic, and career goals in the following areas:
- Assistance with deciding whether you should complete your diploma requirements or prepare for the High School Equivalency exam (GED or HiSET)
- Advise our students regarding enrollment procedures and programs at Antelope Valley College
- Advise our students regarding Career Technical Education programs at our school
- Provide information on community resources

- January 30, 2025: New Year, New You. Tips for managing stress. Online via Zoom, 12:00 p.m.
- February 13, 2025: Antelope Valley College Programs and Enrollment. Explore majors at Antelope Valley College and registration information. In Person. Time, and Location To Be Determined.
- March 13, 2025: California Community Colleges. Explore programs at community colleges across California. Online via Zoom, 12:00 p.m.
- April 17, 2025: Career Exploration and Planning. Resources to plan your career path. Online via Zoom, 12:00 p.m.
