Are you interested in sharing your insights on the student experience at Antelope Valley Adult Education (AVAE)? Do you want to get involved in planning activities to support your community? Or are you looking to develop your communication skills? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then the Student Leadership Council may be a great fit for you!

Benefits of Joining the Student Leadership Council

  • Cultivate leadership foundations: Develop essential skills like public speaking, collaboration, and problem-solving through your involvement in the council
  • Voice their perspectives: As a member of the council, you can share your experiences, ideas, and feedback to help shape the direction of the program
  • Engage in community initiatives: Participate in planning and implementing projects that make a positive impact in your local community
  • Earn 10 Elective Credits towards your High School diploma program
  • Inform your teacher, counselor, administrator, or someone you trust if you have a reasonable belief and/or evidence that academic dishonesty has occurred
  • Demonstrate respect and professionalism by treating others with courtesy and using appropriate language to avoid disrupting the learning environment.

The Student Leadership Council is open to all AVAE students who are passionate about contributing to their educational experience and giving back to the community. It's an excellent way to get your voice heard, gain valuable leadership experience, and make a difference.

The Student Leadership Council meetings are held at the Palmdale campus Fridays from 1:00pm-2:30pm in room A-5. (students from any campus can join) Sign Up today!
